This week I asked Annie Hartnett, author of Rabbit Cake (forthcoming 2016 from Tin House Books) to share a picture of her desk and answer the age-old question: Messy or clean?
This is as clean as it gets. When I’m on a writing jag, the last thing I want to do is tidy up. When I get like that, everything that is not writing feels like a waste of time. This explains the huge pile of laundry in the corner. Walking the dog is not a waste of time, though, of course not. Harvey just wanted to be in the picture. – Annie Hartnett
