My enormous copy of Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary is pretty essential for getting any kind of writing done. Research is absolutely central to my process and this tome is my jumping-off point. Sometimes I just dictionary-surf for a solid 20 minutes at a time. Also an adorable sleeping dog is always a good thing to have for motivation and restorative nap-taking. Lindsay Lusby
