From the Desk of … Megan Stielstra

This week I asked author, essayist, and storyteller Megan Stielstra to share a picture of her desk.

Megan Stielstra's desk

Here is my desk. Hundred bucks on craigslist, a big ol’ wooden slab of a thing. I just got it—the desk, the space, a door that shuts—and the luxury of it blows my mind. I’ve always written on the go, hour here/hour there, on the L, the bus, between jobs, before my kid wakes up, trying to make a room of one’s own without the room. Now I have a little corner just for me. It’s such a privilege. I will earn it, goddammit. I’ll earn it. – Megan Stielstra
