From the Desk of … Rachel Richardson
This week I asked author Rachel Richardson to share a picture and talk about one item on her desk.

a photograph of the desk of author Rachel Richardson

The surface of my desk is usually a wasteland of nonsense—residual coffee mugs, off-brand spray cleaner, novelty candy tins, a tiny figurine of Wolverine—but I keep this little note front and center to ground me. In second grade we turned in “ICUs” of our classmates (I see Katie sharing her crayons, I see Anna listening) and Stacey wrote this one about me: RACHELL IS A GOOD WRITER. The note is twenty years old now and hopefully just as true as when 8 year old Stacey wrote it. – Rachel Richardson
