Instagrammers-in-Residence: Submittable

Submittable is a cloud-based submissions management platform used by organizations to accept and manage manuscripts, music, films, art, and applications. We’re based in Missoula, Montana, and were founded in 2009 by musician John Brownell, writer Michael FitzGerald, and filmmaker Bruce Tribbensee. We post calls for submission daily on www.twitter.com/submittable and www.facebook.com/submishmash, and we send out a weekly list of hand-picked calls in our Submishmash Weekly newsletter (www.submittable.com/newsletter). We’re also working on Submishmash, an API of all contemporary art, literature, music and film in the Universe. Check it out–it’s in beta, but it’s already online at www.submishmash.com.

Hello! This is Asta from @Submittable. We’re a submissions manager used by 1000s of publishers & organizations to accept and curate submissions. This is our building–the historic Florence Hotel in downtown Missoula, Montana. John Wayne is rumored to have stayed here, plus there may or may not be a ghost with a handlebar mustache. #Submishmash #BigSky

Today we took team photos by the Clark Fork River. Bruce, our COO and a #filmmaker, was our photographer. It was sunny. People smiled. #schoolpictureday

My desk at @Submittable has an array of #sushi transformers. They are kind of my favorite thing ever.

From our office you can see mountains with letters on them–Mount Jumbo (“L”) and Mount Sentinel (“M”). Trivia: Our COO Bruce and CEO Michael once made a documentary in which they only climbed mountains with letters on them. It was called “Out of Thin Air.”
