Instagrams from the New Literary Community

rpinstWriters are weird creatures—that’s no secret. Just read up a bit on the quirky habits of the most famous writers in history. Or, you know, look at your own. I mean, I have to follow a very strict routine before I get any typing done: make a cup of peppermint tea (two minutes in the microwave), light a Febreze candle, and put on the striped Ecuadorian pants I stole from an ex-boyfriend (they looked better on me). I’m definitely weird, but what about other people in the literary community? Editors, illustrators, readers, publishers, librarians, storytellers—what are their habits?

Well, Real Pants wants to know and—drum roll—this is the subject of our new Instagrammers-in-Residence account. Here’s how it’ll work: each week, we’ll feature a new person, publication, or organization from the literary community, from all over the world. We give them control of our Instagram and they’ll post a picture a day, giving us some insight into their creative process, inspiration, work, personality, and their lunch (hopefully not that, though).

We launched today, so if you’re not following us yet, please do (@actualpants)! Also, we want this to be a community-driven project, so if you’re interested in giving us a glimpse into a week in the literary life of you or your organization, email us at email@realpants.com.
